not enough info to answer. . . . . . all depends on engine and transmission packages. most common mustang with a V-8 is 4. 6Liter with 300 HP. Most common 68 camaro had a 350 c. i. rated at 305 HP. The difference would be in the rear end ratio. . . . . . Mustang runs lower gear, thus faster from 0-60. . . . . camaro would be faster top end. Compare the GT500 mustang with the 396 c. i. camaro, and the mustang is faster in every aspect. Compare the GT500 with the Camaro 427 Yenko, Camaro is much faster in every aspect.

It certainly can be if its the gt500 =) also it gets a HELLUVA lot more mpg and cleaner too. . .

Weight and aerodynamics make a bigger difference in speed than the power.
