Yes.
The GT500 has nearly 500HP.
The older Camaro has around 250HP, which was a lot of power back then.
But I would still choose the Camaro-Looks, rarity.

I have to go with CS7, although the mustang has 500Hp the Camaro just looks like true American Muscle while the 07 Stang looks more modern and not as classic. And you could take the Camaro to your local car show.

Better? Much debated. Classic car enthusaists would pick the Camaro, as it was fast and powerful for its time, and its looks still hold up well today. However, the GT500 is faster, more powerful, more fuel efficient, and less subject to the problems (awful handling, discomfort, excessive reliability “happenings”) that plagued all but the best-made 70′s cars. Plus, while some will disagree, I think the GT500 looks better. Brilliant piece of design. it echoes the old one, but it still looks modern enough not to be mistaken for it.

sure , a gt500 will be fast around a track .

The Mustang GT500 is a slug as far as performance, its weighs approximately 3920 pounds has 500hp which equates to 7. 8 pounds of car per horse power. It only does the 1/4 mile in 13 seconds, heres the Road And Track official site: http://www. roadandtrack. com/article. asp?section_id=34&article_id=5431
I’d rather have one COPO or Yenko Camaro than 3 Mustang GT500′s, they’re way faster and more valuable.

They are ausome,Yes.

There is no comparison. The GT500 would smoke the 68′ in any race – straight or curvy. As far as better, um, let me think. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . yes, definately.

Better, yes.
The fuel injection in a GT500 would be the envy of anyone who was hot rodding in the 60′s and 70′s.
The handling while not as good as a Miata’s comes close.
6. 8 horse power per pound is not something to sneeze at. Don’t forget the 68 was unsafe at almost any speed, the body had lift designed into it. Those cars would float down the road, while the GT hugs it.
The only place that the 68 might be better is on the 1/4 mile track. But I had a 72 Corolla that could smoke the Camaro on a 1/8 mile run.
Leave those 68 Camaro cars in Grandma’s garage, she is the only one safe driving them!
