More about the red gt, I know it’s a car, but what does the gt stand for?

And what's the history? I've looked it up and I get ford or Mustang..? and I can not get a say on the gt part.

Gran Turismo in Italian

Grand Touring in English.

Ron is incorrect, although the Mustang GT is indeed a higher performance Mustang, the Ford GT was a mid engine car sold in the 2005-06 model years, in the 60′s there was also a Ford GT, also often called the GT40

GT originally stood for Grand Touring. It is now just a badge for a sport package. There hasn’t been a real GT made since the 60′s.

GT Usually stands for “Gran Turismo” (Italian for “Grand Tourer”)

GT is Italian for Gran Tourismo, and was coined by Ferrari. The term GT symbolized a car with very high performance, the best handling package you could find, worth bunches of money, and in most instances it was a sports car. Now keep in mind that the Mustangs, Chevelles, Chargers, etc. , were NOT sports cars, nor did any of them rate and qualify for the term “GT”. You can’t put a large powerful motor in a family sedan and call it a sports car or GT, and that’s what they did in the 60s.
