the mach 1 was an option in 69 and 70 so what excactly is the point of this question the mach 1 biggest power plant was the 428 cj which was a 400 hp motor so if your asking if the mach on is faster than a base 302 mustang yes!

Despite some cosmetic changes, these are essentially the same vehicle. With identical engines, the Mustang would be slightly lighter than the Mach 1.
The Mach 1 is still much hotter looking.
