Which way do I face my subwoofer box in my trunk so that it sounds better?
I have a ford mustang with a 3 cubit ft subwoofer box in the trunk, with an MA AUDIO hardcore 12 in woofer. Right know i have it facing the back instead of toward the inside of the car. My car is a coupe so it has fold down seats.
For additional info i drew a sketch of wat im talkin about see the picture at
thank you

Bass always sounds better if the sound is reflected or is indirect. If you are putting your back seats down, turn the woofer to the rear of the car. If your seats are up, it really doesn’t matter unless you leave the trunk open for tailgate parties.

facing it backwards will give u the best bas reflect and utlizes the truck space as another box b4 it hits u

Generally, with a sealed enclosure facing the sub towards the back will result in the best sound in the vehicle, it gives the bass more travel distance which helps with amplifying the sound (just like when you here bass from a car, it sounds cleaner and deeper the father away you are from it). However, with a ported box, facing the port toward the rear of the vehicle will produce the better sound because the majority of your bass will come out of the port. But in the end only you can determine what sounds better, try it both ways, hell even try aiming it to the side or corners, you never know. Your ears and everyone elses are different, so go with the setup that you think sounds best.

My one friend keeps his seats down and the sub is faced towards the inside of the car its looks retarted and it doesnt really sound much different bass is low frequencys remember so it doent need to be close to your ear like a tweeter does but its up 2 u in the end

for your car, face it either towards the back or towards the front, it wont really matter. if this is a 3 cubic foot box and sealed, your box is roughly 2x too large. my rec: get a new box, ~3 ft^3 ported down to low 30hz area

if ur seats are down. . it will hit so hard as if they were up. . but always keep it pointed facing the trunk

Actually, it depends on how you like your bass. Generally, most people point them backwards as it mellows out the sound.
Try it several different ways and you will come to a conclusion for yourself.
