how good is a 2000 ford mustang engine after 150k miles?
i recently got into a car accident where my car was totaled and i need a car fast but im on limited funds. i fould a nice 2000 ford mustang for sale thats in my price range, but it has 150k miles already on the car. i dont know much about cars but i do know that that is alot of milage. so if anyone know how good or reliable the car maybe PLEASE inform me. i dont want to get a car thats going to be in the shop or need work every other month. could i count on this vehicle to last me a few years???

It really depends on how well maintained it was by the previous owner(s). General rule of thumb is that you are going to have to buy parts for it though.

If a “kid” owned it, pass on it.
If an adult owned it (over 30 years old) it could be a good car.
Spend $100 to have a mechanic check it out before you buy it.

I wouldn’t buy a car with that many miles as your just asking for a lot of troubles.

These engines are generally good for about 200,000 miles or more as along as it at least had regular oil changes.
A friend of mine just replaced his spark plugs at 150,000 miles and it turned out that the plugs were the original plugs that it came from the factory with. That was in a Mustang GT that wasn’t really babied, but did have oil changes.
I have a 94 Mustang with 198,000 miles on it, and it still purrs like it should. Its your call as to if the car is worth it. If it makes strange sounds or anything, just have a shop do an inspection.
