She isn’t territorial. She hasn’t been properly trained and socialized. Hire a trainer, set some boundaries.

I have a 9 year old chihuahua and he is very territorial also. chihuahuas are territorial dogs, and mine is getting old so thats probably adding to it. he really isnt that mean though, just doesnt like being pet when theres food or toys or bones around. maybe she thinks he cage is her home thats why she doesnt want you near it. if you live in ny call dog whisperer. he deals witha lot of territorial chihuahuas

Oh love…you are walking in dangerous territory with your dog. You need to take charge…be your dogs alpha dog, be a good leader. When a dog become territorial you need to let her know it’s your territory too, even more so. Put her on a harness, put a leash on her, put the handle to the leash in your pocket. If she starts to be territorial tug up the leash so she cannot go further, state a firm no, (don’t yell) and if she is still not listening tap your foot. (enough to make a noise but not stomping) It is just enough to avert attention. Continue saying no, tug up leash, tap foot until she quiets down. Then respond, “good girl”. When she is in her cage put her in there with the leash through the top so you can tug it still. When you go to open her cage and she “won’t let you come close” tug the leash, do the no thing and take her out. If she is going to bite you do it this way: after the tug on the leash, toss a towel over her and quickly bring her out. Hold her in way that she cannot bite you and continue saying, “no, no, no”. Keep her in control, start petting her regardless if she likes it or not. She needs to get used to it to bond with you. Somewhere along the line the petting stopped and the attention slacked…it doesn’t mean you are an awful person…life just gets busy sometimes and we have to regroup…change priorities. You can do this…be consistent and don’t back down.

For her up magazine if she growls or bites you give her grab her just reach for her grab her and hold her on the lower back with rolled up magazine if you may get bitten but works another method would be afraid of her back with water every time she growls.
For her squirt right on the mug it works another method is squirt bottle filled with water every time she growls or bites at you give her up into your arms if she bites at.
For her up magazine if you may get bitten but effective method is squirt right on her and say no no no dont use paper thats too heavy though.
