Hackers This 1995 thriller starred a young, sassy Angelina Jolie as a member of a group of high school hackers who find themselves blamed for a computer virus they didn’t spread. Highly influenced by the then popular hacking and cyberpunk subcultures, “Hackers” is seen as a classic in the genre, and is often screened on television networks during the year to much delight of nerds, wannabe hackers, and fans of Jolie’s boyish haircut in the film. The Lawnmower Man If you can get past the awkward title, this Stephen King story adaptation starred a young Pierce Brosnan and is a complex and somewhat convoluted story of a secret virtual reality program called “Project 5” and a developmentally challenged man who slowly gains more and more power through the machine. It’s a pretty dumb movie but has a dated and sort of hilarious take on virtual reality, including a scene of virtual reality sex. Weird Science The classic 80s movie about a couple computer nerds who attempt to create their dream woman who is loyal to them and who will drive them around in her custom Mustang hood drop top convertible. Directed by the late John Huges and with a score by 80s synth-rock band Oingo Boingo, “Weird Science” is a classic film in the 80s teen comedy genre and is notable for its starring role for a young Bill Paxton as well as the famous 80s rat packer, Anthony Michael Hall. WarGames Matthew Broderick stars in this 1983 drama about a young hacker who hacks into the United States military supercomputer that is programmed to see the different outcomes of a nuclear war. Broderick’s character then runs the nuclear war simulation thinking that it is only a computer game, but actually causes a national crisis that nearly starts World War III. It is a dated but interesting look at early 80s nuclear paranoia and the advent of powerful computer technology.

As a kid I intensely remember the first rated R movies I ever saw. I’m not sure at what point my father thought I was old or mature enough to let me watch rated R movies but it was somewhere around 1997. Here is a list of the first rated R movies I ever saw. I remember the night clearly. My obsession with the Dinosaurs and the film “Jurassic Park” was at such a point that I knew every actor and actress in the movie and I knew their real names and followed their ever cinematic move. It was 1997 and I had just seen the television trailer for “Event Horizon,” a science fiction/horror film starring Sam Neill who played paleontologist Alan Grant in “Jurassic Park” so I begged my father to take me to see the rated R film. He hastily agreed and we drove in his new Mustang hood convertible to the Mall of America theater to see the movie. Neither of us knew what we were in for with that film. It was, and still is, one of the most terrifying films I’ve ever seen with a few cinematic moments that I still see in my nightmares. My dad probably didn’t want to be one of those uptight fathers and drag me out of the theater, so we stayed for the entire film. After the film we were both initially silent, but eventually began to have a good discussion about the film’s theme of hell and eternal torment. The other early rated R film I saw was before “Event Horizon” and I believe I saw because my dad was watching it and was too laizze-faire to turn away my request to watch it with him. The film was “Tombstone,” the 1993 Western starring Kurt Russell and Val Kilmer. I remember specifically one of the early shoot out scenes being very bloody to my then young mind. I was a bit shocked by the violence and sexual themes in the film but I don’t think they had any negative effect on those formative years of mine. Those are the two earliest rated R films I can remember seeing as a boy. I believe I was lucky enough to have seen both of these rated R films with my father, which allowed me to ask questions about life, violence, death and sexuality in a safe and understanding environment.

When creating movies there are numerous props that are used in order to make it come alive. These props might be small or rather large counting on the type of movie it is and the reason they are being used. Several of these most standard props are vehicles and in many cases they have the ability to outshine the main actors. Bullitt This 1968 thriller stars Steve McQueen and was made by Peter Yates. For many movies the stars are what make it common - but in this instance it is the vehicle pursuit that served to immortalize it. During this scene the 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback was chasing a Dodge Charger along the streets of San Francisco. Since this movie car makers have redesigned the look of this. Fast And The Furious Though there are around four of these types of movies we are referring to the first one starring Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, and Michelle Rodriguez. This is the very first Asian automotive import movie to come to the United States. It is a peek at street racing and the people who participate in it. This movie offers us a look at a assortment of vehicles including; VW Jetta, Mitsubishi Eclipse, and the Honda S2000. Transformers This is a ordinary movie based off of the older cartoon show and toys. It stars Shia LeBouf and Megan Fox. All of the superhero characters and bad guys take the form of cars around them when seeking to hide among the humans. A couple of the more ordinary cars that they take the form of is the Ford Mustang, GMC TopKick, and the 2010 Chevy Camaro Bumblebee. Most of the cars utilized in the new movie “Revenge of the Fallen” were the all new models.

Read up on the latest Bumblebee Camaro and why they used it in Transformers. Also keep up with the latest in Chevy Camaro Reviews and what new models are hitting the streets.

Actors always get their names in the credits, but cars rarely do. Nonetheless, there have been many films that featured scene-stealing sports cars that probably deserved to have their make and model mentioned as the movie ended. Though there are undoubtedly countless examples of great movie sports cars, at least five truly stand out.
Alfa Romeo from The Graduate
Dustin Hoffman may have been told that the future was in plastics, but he relied on the metal of an Alfa Romeo graduation gift to get him to the church just in time to stop that wedding. The cherry red Alfa Romeo with the personalized plates played a key role in the classic film. It was featured in multiple scenes and was used in the most critical moments of the movie. Everyone remembers the shot of the befuddled kid taken from under the leg of Mrs. Robinson. But everyone remembers that little car, too.
XB Falcon from Mad Max
If you are going to have to patrol a post-apocalyptic Australian wasteland in a car, you might as well do it in style. Mel Gibson, as Mad Max, did just that in the popular movie trilogy's first installment. Zipping across what was left of civilization in a 1974 XB Falcon V8 interceptor, Mad Max was a formidable foe to those villains who survived the nuclear war. Although it was as road-weary and beat up as one would expect in such a dire situation, the XB Falcon still cut a stunning silhouette as it crossed what was left of the land down under.
Aston Martin from Goldfinger and Thunderball
If asked to name a British sports car producer, most Americans will say "Aston Martin. " That's directly attributable to James Bond. Sure, having Sean Connery as James Bond behind the wheel is likely to make any sports car look cool, but the Aston Martin DB5 used in the films would have looked great even without Q's notable upgrades. The Aston Martin was as much a character as Bond or either of his nemeses in the two films and remains a popular icon today. In fact, its popularity remained so high that the original used in the films, described by one of its owners as "the most popular car in the world" was actually stolen by a would be agent from a Boca Raton, Florida, airport in 1997.
Delorean DMC-12 from Back to the Future
Even without its time-traveling capabilities and mad scientist owner, the stainless steel DMC-12 was hard to forget. The gull-winged innovator never sold as well as its creator, John Delorean, had hoped, but it certainly became an American icon after its appearance in the Back to the Future films. The successful movie franchise and the DMC-12 have become inseparable in the public's mind. One cannot talk of the movies without making mention to the car Christopher Lloyd built to go back in time.
Mustang from Bullitt
Steve McQueen is still regarded in some circles as the king of cool, and Bullitt is still remembered for its incomparable chase scenes through the hilly roads of San Francisco. McQueen took the famous romp in a 1968 Mustang GT390. That Mustang is still regarded as one of the best built in the franchise's history and will long be remembered for its breath-taking maneuvers in one of America's most interesting-to-drive cities. The car's popularity actually led Ford to name a Mustang produced over thirty years after McQueen's wild ride the "Bullit. "
It's not uncommon to find movies featuring cars. The chase scene is an almost ubiquitous feature in modern film, after all. Occasionally, however, cars become a part of the movie. When a key role is given to a vehicle and the movie is a gem, the sports car can become unforgettable. Whether rescuing women from unwanted weddings or giving chase over Frisco hills, some sports cars have had movie roles worthy of Oscars.

The obsession by Americans about their cars in movies goes back a long time. It may have been one of the best action flicks that you have ever seen and then the car of your dreams comes ripping across the screen and you lose total focus. Everyone else is talking about how great the movie was and all you keep saying it did you see that car?One of my personal favorites has always been the 1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500 fastback. If you don't like this car, you must be living on some other planet. There are plenty of movies that this automobile has started but I don't believe it is ever truly taken over a movie like it did in the Nicolas Cage movie, Gone in 60 Seconds. The car itself personality and she was named Eleanor and was Cage's nemesis. I don't know that I have ever seen a car in more immaculate shape as when he first sat down inside. I don't know about you, but a two-year came to my eye the first time she hit another car and her rear view mirror was ripped off. If I could've, I would've gone through the screen and smack them around for ruining a true work of art. Another great car that stood on its own was the 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS in Dazed and Confused. This car brought me back to my youth as one of my brothers actually had one that was almost identical to it. I remember the first time I sat down and it and he put the key in the ignition and fire that baby up. To quote Matthew McConaughey, "We're talkin' some #$%@in muscle. "The car itself from The Blues Brothers may not have made you want to run out and buy an old police car, but you kind of had to think about doing it after you saw this flick. The 1974 Dodge Monaco was Elwood's pride and joy. One of the funniest lines in the movie to ever describe a car was when Dan Aykroyd said, "Its got a cop motor, its got cop tires, cop suspension and cop shocks. " You could hear the admiration and loathing so apparent at the same time, it will always remain one of my favorite movie lines. Last but definitely not least is the 1961 Ferrari 250 GT Spider California from Ferris Bueller's Day off. Oddly enough, I want to see this with a buddy of mine who himself was a parking lot attendant and I don't believe I've ever heard someone chuckled so loud when those guys took off with the car. He basically answered my question before I could ask it. There really is no other way to describe this beauty than to quote Ferris Bueller, "its so choice. " This was another one of those movies that brings a tear to your eye on the car gets driven out of the house and into the trees. You have to wonder what the director was thinking when he wrecked that baby.

Since movies were first screened cars has featured heavily in them. The Movie Bullitt released in 1968 starring Steve McQueen although probably not the first movie to feature a car chase was undoubtedly one of the original car movies of all time.
Audiences were stunned by the intense and dramatic footage of a Ford Mustang and Dodge Viper screaming through the streets of downtown San Francisco.
Many movies have featured dramatic car chase scenes. In 1971 The French Connection, a thriller about two NYC cops in the narcotics bureau starred Gene Hackman and Roy Scheider. The film featured a thrilling car chase through busy streets of which the film is ultimately remembered for.
You would be mistaken to think the only reason cars would ever feature in movies would be for the sole purpose of an exciting chase. You would of course be wrong as many films have not only included cars in them but the car itself has been the main star.
In 1964 Chitty Chitty Bang Bang a book by Ian Fleming was first published. The book was later made into classic movie with Dick Van Dyke in the lead role but of course the real star of the movie was the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. The movie was essentially for children but it is one of those films that are entertaining for the whole family.
In 1969 we saw three Mini's weaving through the traffic jammed streets of Turin in the fabulous The Italian Job starring Michael Caine. The red white and blue Mini's were without doubt the stars of the movie which was later remade in 2003 and starred Mark Wahlberg.
In 1983 John Carpenters Christine was released. This was a story of a possessed regenerating car hell bent on killing. Arnie Cunningham played by Keith Gordon finds a Plymouth Fury in need of restoration. As Arnie rebuilds Christine he begins to change himself transforming from shy and nerdy to over confident and arrogant.
Possibly one of the most enduring and lovable of all cars in the movies is Herbie. Sporting the number 53 Herbie a Volkswagen Beetle has made five movies dating back to 1969 with his latest outing recently in 2005 starring Lindsay Lohan. The comical exploits of Herbie have won many peoples hearts with the main plot lines being David and Goliath natured.
Today cars in movies are still big box office draws. Pixar have recently released a movie witch features only cars in the line up. The animated adventures of Lightning McQueen voiced by Owen Wilson are hilarious and not too be missed.
Whilst we still drive cars in our lives there is no doubt they will be in our movies for years to come.
